Breast Cancer Awareness Volleyball Game

On October 3rd, the volleyball team, wearing their pink uniforms, competed against Marian Central with a specific goal: raising money for breast cancer awareness. After throwing candy bags into the crowd, our team raffled off baskets, sold various baked treats and pink painted pumpkins, and held a 50/50 raffle. In total, the team managed to raise $1,375 that has all been donated to the American Cancer Society.

One of the players, Alexandra Hopp (10), thinks it’s important to dedicate a game to this important cause.

“[This cause] helps people [who] struggle with breast cancer. It’s a great cause because so many people struggle with it all around the world. It [helps] them [to] know that people will care. I do know some people that were affected [and] I know that it’s a tough disease.”
